DAMAR’s Grape Escape
Two weeks ago, Julie and Rick Wiggins of DAMAR Heating partook in what they describe to be one of the most unique wine tasting experiences they have had in Pacific Northwest. Mike and Kristy Thayer of Pete’s Mountain Vineyard opened up their tasting room to welcome Rick, Julie, and five other people to sample an array of their wines, some of which were made using grapes grown right on their gorgeous 20 acre estate. What made this experience so unique was the level of hospitality imbued by Mike and Kristy, as they welcomed their guests with the warmth and kindness of good friends.
The vineyard is located just twenty minutes outside of Portland near West Linn, Oregon, and boasts some of the most spectacular views one could ever dream of seeing in this region. From the property, guests can gaze across the gorgeous Northern Willamette Valley and over the Willamette River, only to be further stunned by an unobstructed and breathtaking view of Mount Hood.
The folks at Pete’s Mountain Vineyard are normally available for tastings on Sundays by appointment only, but this Friday and Saturday, November 28th and 29th, their tasting room will be open to the public from 11am-4pm. Escape the chaos of Black Friday holiday shopping and go taste some delicious wine!
